Dear family and friends of University Eye Clinic. We are happy to announce we will be starting to reopen our clinic gradually over the next couple weeks!
Those of you already on our waiting list will be contacted shortly and asked to fill out a short questionnaire to help us book you an appropriate time slot. Those not yet on our list are asked to join the list by emailing your contact information and reason for visit to: [email protected]
We will look different when you walk through the door and the process of the eye examination will have changed. Rest assured this is for everyone’s health and safety. We have installed plexiglass on every counter, desk and possible point of interaction with staff. If a team member needs to get close to you for a measurement they will be in full protective gear including face masks and shields to do so.
In order to comply with physical distancing protocols, we have reduced patient flow and will limit the number of patients through the office. We are also happy to announce we were able to acquire a large additional space across the hall. We will be using this space as a screening area, an additional waiting area for patient overflow as well as an area to preform pre-tests and measurements in safe and secure rooms away from congestion.
There are also a few things that we will need to ask of you to help keep the office safe: Please come in alone (unless accompanying a child), wearing a mask (required), clean and sanitize your hands upon arrival and leave all unnecessary belongings at home or in your car.
If you have vision concerns but are feeling unwell, have a cough, cold, flu or fever we ask that you stay home. Although we cannot see you at the office in person if you feel the concern cannot wait we are working on offering teleoptometry consults. This will serve as a safe alternative.
We are looking forward to seeing all of you again in a safe manner. We are also looking forward to getting back to our normal lives soon!
*Note: due to potential spread of COVID-19 through ocular surfaces we will be unable to see patients for new contact lens fits and teaches
We are hoping to open our online appointment booking system within the next few weeks.
Please call the office at 416-977-8194 or send us an email ([email protected]) with any questions you may have.
