Dr. Nancy Lay, OD

Dr. Nancy Lay

Dr. Nancy Lay earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts. Recognized throughout her education for both academic excellence and leadership, she received multiple scholarships, earned Dean’s List honours, and was inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honour Society. In addition to her academic achievements, Dr. Lay served as Co-President of the Canadian Association of Optometry Students while mentoring fellow students as both a teaching assistant and peer tutor, demonstrating her commitment to mentorship, collaboration, and the continued growth of the profession.

Dr. Lay completed advanced clinical training in Veterans Affairs hospitals, community health centers, and private practice settings across the United States. She practices full-scope optometry, with experience in comprehensive eye care, contact lens fittings, and the diagnosis and management of ocular diseases, including glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, and dry eye disease. She has special interests in fitting soft and specialty contact lenses and developing individualized treatment plans for patients with dry eye disease. Committed to lifelong learning, Dr. Lay stays current with the latest advances in optometry to provide the highest standard of care. She believes that open communication and patient education are essential for maintaining life-long eye health.

Originally from the Greater Toronto Area, Dr. Lay is excited to return home to care for patients in her community and looks forward to building trusting relationships through compassionate and individualized patient-care. Outside the clinic, she enjoys staying active with pilates and pickleball, exploring the outdoors, and spending quality time with friends and family.
