Astigmatism Ocular Conditions

Often occurs along with myopia and hyperopia.

Astigmatism is a condition in which the surface of the cornea and/or lens is not evenly curved. Astigmatism is very common but is more often found in small amounts. Often times you are told you have astigmatism even though you have never been told this before. This is usually because the amount of astigmatism you have is very low and has not been mentioned before or might not have been present before. Small amounts of astigmatism often come and go without cause.

Treatment options: eyeglasses, contact lenses or surgery.
